Estonia Hotel Review: Mövenpick Hotel, Tallinn

Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn is a modern, Scandinavian style hotel in the heart of the city, a short walk from the Old Town. It was the first stop on our stay during a recent press trip with Visit Estonia, and was the perfect stylish rest spot for a city trip.

The Location

Tucked just outside the edges of Tallinn’s bustling Old Town, the hotel offered peace and quiet without being far from the action. It’s ideal for both first-time visitors and frequent travellers looking for a serene base.

As an added bonus, we took a tour with Heli (Heli Likes To Talk - Tours in Tallinn and More) to explore the Old Town (and a few days later, the Cultural Quarter). She’s an animated, funny, eclectic tour guide with the best insights of both the history and modern day experience of living in Tallin. She’s also a casting director and collaborator on multiple creative project; the epitome of a City Girl Creative.

The Room

The rooms are designed with both beauty and function in mind, and a special mention has to go to the lovely long window displaying the quiet street. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, with a pillow menu that felt like a little luxury. Everything was spotlessly clean and curated: from the soft ambient lighting to the walk-in rainfall shower and heated floors in the bathroom. Fast Wi-Fi, USB outlets, and a generous workspace made it easy to stay connected. It struck a perfect balance between practical and pampering.

The Facilities

Mövenpick Tallinn’s wellness area is a standout. The compact spa features a sauna, steam room, indoor pool, japanese bath, cold plunge and treatment rooms if you want to indulge in a massage or facial. There’s also a gym for those keen to stay active. One of our favourite touches? The daily chocolate hour, where guests are treated to complimentary sweet treats in the lobby. A Mövenpick signature that feels fun and indulgent.

Food and Drink

The restaurant at Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn has stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that wraps around the whole floor to show a great city view of Estonian buildings blending into the trees. We enjoyed a late lunch there on arrival before our walking tour with Hellie, and the extensive breakfast buffer the next day.

For the late lunch, our group enjoyed a colourful fruit salad, and a beautifully decorated avocado salad. As a dairy free alternative, I was given a fresh seasonal salad, which was deliciously fuelled me for our walking tour.

Breakfast was a vast buffet that celebrated local Estonian flavours alongside international classics, with plenty of gluten free, vegan and dairy free options. We loved the rye bread with smoked fish, the range of herbal teas, and the made-to-order omelettes.
