City Girl Network Homeware Edit: Pampas Grass

City Girl Network’s Homeware Edit aims to bring you a monthly feature of the latest trends in interior design, whilst also encouraging you to support local and small businesses when decorating your home.

I’ll admit it, I’ve become a little pampas-obsessed in the last year. But how could I not!? Their simple yet sophisticated fluffy stems add an air of elegance to any room. Whether it’s a statement piece for a living room, or a small bouquet adding glamour to a bathroom, there’s a plethora of shapes, sizes and colours to suit everyone.

One fantastic element of the pampas scene is that you can support small businesses and know that you’re making a real difference to them when you’re sitting admiring your new decor. Just take a look at the likes of pastel pampas palace By.Bonhomie or the chic, minimalistic vibes from The Pampas Story on Instagram and you’ll see just how important every single order is.

With that being said, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite pampas and dried flower purchases, if you need a little inspiration to jazz up your living space.

If it’s a statement piece you’re after, then these amazing large and fluffy stems (above) are perfect for turning a boring corner into a bohemian pampas oasis (yes, I’m eyeing them up for my hallway…).

Sitting at 115cm tall, these extra large stems come in a gorgeous natural beige colour, with shorter heads (panicles, if we’re being technical) meaning they’re perfect for accessorising tall and decorative vases. They’re also an Etsy Bestseller with a heartwarming backstory detailing how your purchase supports the Dutch farmers who have been growing the pampas with love for 30 years!

There are additionally great options for purchasing matching vases with smaller pre-made bouquets, such as this amazing value 50-piece bouquet that includes stunning white and cream pampas mixed with dried reeds, all presented in a beautifully complementary translucent amber vase.

If a more contemporary feel is your goal, then chic monochrome bouquets can add a stylish twist to any room. Though you can find dyed pampas in white and black, there are also cute options of bunny tails, which are perfect for letterbox gifting.

We love this arrangement of monochrome phalaris and bunny tails with natural pampas in a female figure vase, which would make a stunning addition to a side table, especially styled with luxury fashion house coffee table books (or cheat with a dupe designer book box like these).

If you’re after something a little more vibrant, then there are plenty of options for dyed pampas, from more muted pastel tones to bright, mood-lifting shades.

Another Etsy Bestseller, these pastel-dyed bunny tails offer a totally different feel to natural shades, and are ideal for a pop of colour to brighten a room, or to freshen up a more traditional pampas bouquet.

On the livelier scale, these neon (yes, you read that correctly) dyed grasses and dried flowers are certainly eye-catching, but equally as stunning. Not just for the home, these would be great for decorating a garden or birthday party.

With all natural pampas grass, it is important to ensure you follow aftercare instructions to keep your pampas looking its best. This is a good video for guidance on how to increase the ‘fluffiness’ of your stems and reduce shedding so that you can admire them for years to come.
