The Review:
Bat out of Hell, is an award-winning tribute musical to iconic rock legends Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf. The story is based on a reinterpretation of Peter Pan, in which the audience follows the love story between Strat, the eternally 18-year-old leader of the ‘lost’, and Raven, the daughter of the powerful tyrant ruler of post-apocalyptic Manhattan. The casting, especially for Strat (Glenn Adamson) and Raven (Martha Kirby), was very well chosen making him a very believable rebel and making the audience feel the conflict within her.
Jim Steinman’s and Meat Loaf’s powerful and popular anthems, like “I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)” and “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” come through powerful dance choreographies, surprising pyrotechnics and incredible vocals by the cast to life.
The rock n roll experience already started before showtime: The local Harley Davidson chapter met up in front of the MK theatre which was a fantastic opportunity to not only see all sorts of motorbike.models and designs but also to take photos not only motorbike enthusiast. This was further topped by revving engines during the Harley Davidson parade. The theatre confirmed that the chapter will be available for other dates as well, so don’t miss out on this opportunity!
Bat out of Hell itself concluded in a grand finale with all its colours and was truly reflecting what rock n roll is all about. The UK tour is dedicated to the memory of Jim Steinman (01/11/1947 – 19/04/2021) and Meat Loaf (27/09/1947 – 20/01/ 2022).
