Food Review: GNAW Chocolate

Cosy Chocolate Season has become more extravagant, innovative and delicious as the years go on, which is a true joy for the many Chocoholics in the City Girl Network. But it’s far more challenging to find at-home Hot Chocolate and Mocha options than the many fuelling cafés across the UK. Cue: Gnaw Chocolate — a handcrafted chocolate experience infused with creativity, sustainability, and a playful sense of humour.

Based in Norfolk (UK), Gnaw Chocolate has been crafting artisanal treats since 2011. Their ethos is rooted in making chocolate fun, flavourful, and eco-friendly, combining innovative recipes with a commitment to sustainability. Each product is lovingly handmade in small batches, ensuring premium quality with every bite.

We, very joyfully, received Gnaw Mocha Melts, Hot Chocolate Spoons and Chocolate Bars to get ourselves into the Cosy Chocolate Season spirit. And taste test the perfect gifts for your Chocoholic friend.

Chocolate Bars

Taste: ★★★★★
Price: £3.50

A word to the wise… do not try this if you are intending to gift it. Or, get yourself one too. They are delicious! There are so many to choose from, we thought we’d give you a hand and highlight the ones we loved the most…

  • Raspberry Mojito: The sweetness of the chocolate, bitterness of the raspberry and minty-ness of the mojito made this an exciting chocolate bar to try – and quickly devour.

  • Honeycomb and Caramel: This is very different in texture to the Raspberry Mojito, with a sweet and smooth flavour. Perfect for your sweet-tooth colleagues.

  • Seville Orange: This is rich in dark-chocolate, with the orange flavour shining through afterwards. Perfect for a fan of a Terry’s Dark Chocolate Orange.

  • Sticky Toffee Pudding: We were fearful at first that this would be an overly sweet chocolate bar, as Sticky Toffee Pudding can sometimes be. But it was beautifully executed, with a warm biscoff-like taste shining throughout.

  • New Years Cheesecake: This was very light and moorish, blending the creaminess of the milk chocolate and delicious flavour of the cheesecake.

  • Popcorn and Peanut: This was our favourite! It’s not crunchy, as you might expect. It’s all about the flavours – and you can very clearly

Gooey Hot Chocolate Spoons

Taste: ★★★★
Price
: From £9.95 (for 3)

Gooey Hot Chocolate Spoons are the perfect Christmas stocking filler or Secret Santa present. Much like their amazing range of chocolate bars, there are plenty of flavours available including some boozy affairs (Spiced Rum, Hot Toddy and Amaretto)!

We got into the Sticky Toffee Pudding, Creme Brûlée & Bakewell Pudding Hot Chocolate Spoons (£11.95), which all came with delicious creamy marshmallows! The Bakewell Pudding flavour was our stand-out favourite, with its uniquely nutty taste that elevated the hot chocolate to the next level.

Gnaw Mocha Melts

Taste: ★★★★★
Price
: From £12 (for 12)

The standout product of the whole Gnaw tasting experience were the Mocha Melts! They’re not as sweet as you might expect, with the wonderfully velvety chocolate flavour subtly blending into the coffee.

The theatrics of the Mocha Melt – available in Double Chocolate, Hazelnut and Salted Caramel – truly make it a fun experience. You simply pop the chocolate cube into your coffee and watch as your coffee transforms. It’s an ideal addition to your office weekly shop, particularly to impress your clients and give your colleagues a well-earned treat.

With a vast array of innovate flavours for multiple occasions, Gnaw truly does have a flavour for everyone and a fun experience for every chocaholic.

Treat yourself and your loved ones this Christmas over at gnawchocolate.co.uk.
