Leeds Girl Book Club

Leeds Girl monthly book club returns!💜

This month the poll winner is:

Strange Case of Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent

Your Event Host: Lisette

Get reading and come join us at Parkside Tavern at 6:30pm.

We will sit upstairs.

It is very informal; we just chat about the book however I encourage bringing questions. We have also been and are continuing to book swap at bookclub so please do bring along any books you’d like to swap.

There is a small fee of £2 to attend, this helps to keep us at Leeds Girl able to run our excellent events. Tickets are non-refundable but please let us know if you can’t make it via the FB group.

Finishing the book is recommended as there will be spoilers!

Usually book club lasts around an hour but you are welcome to stick around for a drink or even join the pub quiz that starts at 7:30pm.

Quiz is an optional extra so please put a comment in the Facebook Group to see if others will be staying.

The book is available from your usual book stores, and remember you can check your local library too. Maybe even consider lending your copy to another Leeds Girl!

Please let Lisette know if you have any questions. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the book and we're really looking forward to seeing you all there!

Whether you’re new to houseplants or have your own little green haven at home, we welcome you all to come and join us, and what’s better swapping a plant, then painting its new little home? 🏠🪴

Birmingham Girl Silent Book Club

Introducing our very first Silent Book Club! This has been created in mind to provide a neuroinclusive space for people to come together to read. The space we have chosen will allow us to adjust the volume of any music and the lighting levels to accommodate all sensory needs.

The first part of event will form a short discussion around books, but you are welcome to join and simply read. The rest of the event will allow all members to read their own books silently in the company of others.

This will take place on Tuesday 24th September at Lost & Found Birmingham, with no set book in mind, so no pressure to have read a specific book. However, as this is our first event of this kind - if others would like that, it is something that can be discussed then.

Hosted by Yas - our fab volunteer for this club!

Our book clubs aren’t a serious affair. They’re just a nice opportunity to get together in a relaxed space and have a chat in small groups. We’ll give you a list of questions – shared before the event so you know what to expect – and your group can choose how you use them.

Birmingham Girl Silent Book Club

Introducing our Silent Book Club!

This will take place on Tuesday 22nd October at Lost & Found Birmingham, with no set book in mind, so no pressure to have read a specific book.

There have been so many long-lasting friendships made by our book clubs – it’s such a special event!

Where you can find the book

The book is readily available everywhere! You can find one at your local library, ask in the Birmingham Girl FB group if anyone’s able to lend you a copy, or buy it from local bookstores like The Heath Bookshop.

We have a few affiliate relationships with booksellers. If you choose to buy from them, we’d love it if you can buy them through our links below!

Audible (30 Day Trial)
Audible (99p for the first three months)

To book, select 22nd October below and then continue – this will then prompt you to add your payment details.

Oxford Girl Book Club

This September join Oxford Girl for the very first Book Club!

As its the first event - this is an opportunity to join us, even if you haven’t read the book and a good ole natter about what books you love and decide on the book for the following month too.

In true Book Club style though, we will have a chat about the following book: What you are looking for is in the library by Michiko Toyama.

This month’s book club will be hosted by Elmira & Divjot.

Come and join us to chat about the books with us - no pressure to have read or finished the book!

Expect to have an amazing evening with a group of great Oxford Girls, having lots of fun discussing the chosen book!
We understand that coming to an event can be daunting if you haven’t been to one before (or sometimes even if you have!). We really want you all to know that absolutely everyone on the Oxford Girl group is welcome.

We are a group of kind, supportive and inclusive girls who are all here with the same thing in mind - to create some strong connections and quality friendships. So please don’t worry if you’re feeling anxious as those anxieties will certainly fade once you’ve met us!

Where you can find the book

The book is readily available everywhere! You can find one at your local library, ask in the Oxford Girl FB group if anyone’s able to lend you a copy, or buy it from local bookstores.

We have a few affiliate relationships with booksellers. If you choose to buy from them, we’d love it if you can buy them through our links below!

There have been so many long-lasting friendships made by our book clubs – it’s such a special event!

We may be introducing a small book swap into this event, so watch this space!
